Flashover Nearly Traps Four Gary Indiana Firefighters.

Gary firefighters responded in January 2010 to a reported still alarm in the 2300 block of Massachusetts, on arrival Battalion 4 advised of a working fire in a 2 story dwelling at the corner of 24th and Massachusetts. Engine 12 brought in the hydrant and Truck 4 started opening the building. As firefighters made entry the interior flashed and they made it out by the skin on their behinds. An aggressive attack was made and the roof was opened. Nobody was hurt at the fire scene. Excellent job and everyone went home.
