VIDEO: Washington DC Metropolitan Police Department Release Surveillance Video Showing Drive-By Shooting


Official DC Police: Vehicles of Interest in Assault With Intent to Kill (AWIK), 1200 b/o N. Capitol St., NW, on March 11, 2013.

DC Police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 2:10 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2013 to a drive-by shooting with 11 people wounded at North Capitol Street and New York Avenue. The location is about seven blocks north of Union Station.

A surveillance video captured images of shots fired from two vehicles speeding past victims on the sidewalk.

The Metropolitan Police Department seeks the public’s assistance in identifying two vehicles of interest in an Assault with Intent to Kill incident which occurred in the 1200 block of North Capitol Street, NW (in the adjacent service road) on Monday, March 11, 2013 at approximately 2:10 AM. The vehicles were captured by surveillance video as they drove by a building in the block. Occupants of at least one vehicle fired shots into a group of individuals on the sidewalk.

The Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a violent crime committed in the District of Columbia. No life-threatening injures were reported, but at least one person received a serious gunshot wound to the back.
