VIDEO: Lincoln Nebraska Bus Driver Assaults Passenger for Asking a Question


A Lincoln, Nebraska bus driver accused of assaulting a passenger — repeatedly punched the man before dragging him off the vehicle and leaving him on the side of a road has been fired.

Charges have been filed against Star Tran bus driver Troy Fischer, 43, was cited on suspicion of misdemeanor assault in connection with a March 23, 2013 incident when surveillance video showed the bus driver assaulting a passenger.

Surveillance video onboard the bus shows Troy Fischer push and repeatedly strike passenger Torrance Rose.

There is no evidence that passenger Torrance Rose ever acted in a threatening manner.

No word on the extent of any injuries to passenger Torrance Rose.

The City of Lincoln (population 258,379) is the capital of Nebraska, and the second-most populated city of Nebraska, following Omaha.

StarTran is the public transit bus system in Lincoln, Nebraska. StarTran does not operate on Sundays, and weekday service ends early on evenings. All routes operate on a “spoke” configuration from downtown Lincoln, adding to travel time for cross-town trips.
