House Fire on Monroe Ave, North Bellmore — Hamlet on Long Island, New York


North Bellmore fight heavy fire in a home on Monroe Avenue, North Bellmore.

North Bellmore firefighters responded about 8:00 p.m. Tuesday May 21, 2013 at 1974 Monroe Avenue to house with fire throughout and fire through the roof. North Bellmore Truck 8 was at Sector 1 (A-side) navigating under some power/cable/telephone lines.

Evacuation tones were sounded (captured at about 2:00 elapsed time).

Two adults and two children were evacuated safely out of the house.

Since 2001 the Insurance Services Office (ISO) has rated the North Bellmore Fire Department under Class 2 designation. The department has the highest rating on Long Island as well as among the top one percent in New York and throughout the United States.
