Custom Home Destroyed by Fire on Millet Street North, Dix Hills, Long Island

Fire video shows the fire venting out a roof, and then heavy fire erupts from the rear roof area of the house.

Dix Hills firefighters responded about 3:00 p.m. Friday to a house fire at 128 Millet Street North. A mom and her three children escaped the fire without injuries.

The 4,780-square-foot home was built in 2007, and is reported to be a total loss. The cause of the fire is not known.

The beautiful home setting surrounded by small woods was located less than 1,000 feet from Dix Hills Fire Station 2 — as the crow flies.
