Alhambra Ladder Truck, Monterey Park Fire Engine Crash at Emerson Ave and Garfield Ave, Monterey Park

At least 10 Injured after fire engine crashes into Monterey Park restaurant Lu Dumpling House.

An Alhambra ladder tiller truck and a Monterey Park fire engine responding to the same fire call for a house fire crashed at the intersection of Emerson Avenue and Garfield Avenue about 3:15 p.m. Thursday. The Monterey Park fire engine then careened into Lu Dumpling House — a restaurant at the corner.

A man standing on the corner was pushed into the restaurant through the front entrance after the fire engine crash, and was then pinned and critically injured under the fire engine inside the restaurant. Firefighters rushed to help him.

The total injured? Nine civilians and six firefighters. One of the firefighters was seriously injured.
