Two Fire Engines Destroyed by Fire While Battling Commercial Building Fire in Capitol Heights, Maryland


A three-alarm fire broke out in a roofing company building in Capitol Heights Monday afternoon in the 8700 block of Ashwood Drive.

Winds shifted Monday afternoon at commercial building fire in the 8700 block of Ashwood Drive, which resulted in the destruction of two fire engines. An engine from West Lanham Hills Volunteer Fire Department and an engine from Kentland Volunteer Fire Department were destroyed by the fire.

The 3-alarm fire involved a roofing company business in a commercial building. The building is believed to have contained propane tanks.
