Police Chase Involving Stolen Vehicle with Crash into Innocent Motorist ‘s Vehicle and Subsequent Extrication at Orange Grove Blvd and Holly St, Pasadena

A police chase has ended late Thursday afternoon at the intersection of Orange Grove Boulevard and Holly Street in Pasadena, California, after a long pursuit that started in Bell Gardens.

Police chase from Bell Gardens into Pasadena where a crash occurred when the driver of stolen white pickup truck T-boned an innocent motorist’s vehicle on the driver’s side door.

Pasadena Fire Department Truck 31 and Engine 31 crews worked extrication with no ambulance initially on scene. Pasadena Rescue Ambulance 736 was on scene by the time the female driver was extricated.

The driver of the car hit by the pickup truck, Ana Isabel Rodriguez, age 60 and a mother of five, was hospitalized and listed in “serious-but-stable condition.”

Fernando Octavio Frenes, 51, was accused of auto theft, hit-and-run, evading police causing serious bodily injury and violating his probation stemming from a prior assault conviction, according to Bell Gardens Police Department officials and Los Angeles County booking records.
