DASHCAM VIDEO: Dayton Fire Department Ambulance Stolen, Caught by Dayton Police

A 44-year-old man took off in an ambulance when he found the keys in the ignition, but he caught in a short timeby Dayton police officers.

Dayton police responded about 6:30 p.m. Friday October 20, 2017 to the block of 400 Salem Avenue to a report of a stolen ambulance with paramedics in the back of the ambulance with a patient.

Police safely stopped the offender with the ambulance, and paramedics and patient safe inside in the block of 2100 West Riverview Avenue — about 1.5 mile from the original location where the ambulance was stolen.

Suspect Jeffrey Lamar Brown, age 44, was dragged out of the driver’s seat and brought to the street by police. The ambulance was also secured by police, as it was still rolling after police dragged the suspect out of the ambulance.

Injuries: Unknown or none.

Fire Damage Estimate: No damage.
