Four Firefighters Killed, Five Injured in Fire at Southwest Inn, Houston


Officials say four firefighters died and five others were hurt battling a five-alarm fire at a hotel and restaurant.

Houston firefighters responded to a 5 ALARM fire at the Southwest Inn, 6855 Southwest Freeway, Houston Friday just after noon. Four firefighters were killed and five firefighters were injured.


Authorities say four firefighters were killed, and five others were injured, while trying to battle a fire that engulfed a Houston motel.

Air temperature was in the 90s while firefighters were fighting the fire.
