Basement Fire in Vacant “Southern Funeral Home” on South Grand Ave Near Holly Hills Blvd, St. Louis

St. Louis Fire Department responded on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 to a 1st Alarm fire after multiple calls reporting a fire in the 6300 block of South Grand Boulevard.

On arrival, heavy smoke was showing from the basement or lower level of a vacant one-story brick funeral home, known at “Southern Funeral Home.” Firefighters led out with two lines and extinguished the fire. The fire was the third or fourth fire in the building during the past few years according to “FirstAlarmPhoto STL”.
