A Kansas City, Missouri firefighter had to be pulled from the basement during a house fire in south Kansas City Sunday night.
Kansas City firefighters responded about 5:50 p.m. Sunday to a house fire on West 123rd Terrace. Firefighters received a report that one person was missing inside the house — possibly trapped in the basement. A fire captain suffered second degree burns and had to be rescued from the burning house.
Firefighters switched to defensive mode after the MayDay and rescue of the fire captain.
