Armed Man in Pickup Truck Brings Fatally Wounded Passenger to Indianapolis Police Headquarters

Shooting downtown Indianapolis, Indiana [WARNING: Some graphic language].

Police near Indianapolis Police Department Headquarters about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday were met by a man seeking help for his female passenger that was hit by gunfire. The woman was in the passenger in the pickup truck, but the driver was armed. Police took the male driver down to the sidewalk when they saw he was armed — and apparently when they saw the wounded woman in the passenger seat.

They soon learned that the truck was shot at by unknown offenders not on the scene. Bullet holes were visible in the windshield of the pickup truck.

The woman was rushed to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Police are investigating.
