5 Hurt, 3 with Serious Injuries After Head-On Crash on East Fork Rd in Azusa Canyon Northeast of Los Angeles

Five people were injured, three seriously, after a head-on crash, Monday afternoon, April 27, 2020 in hills northeast of Los Angeles.

Los Angeles County firefighter/paramedics and Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies responded about 2:32 p.m. Monday, April 27, 2020 to a head-on crash involving two vehicles on East Fork Road just east of the SR-39 Highway (San Gabriel Canyon Road) in Asuza Canyon.

LA County Firefighter/paramedics upon arrival discovered three of five patients with serious injuries.




The crash involved a black Chevrolet Colorado and a white Mitsubishi 3000GT. The Chevrolet Colorado was rolled onto the passenger side onto an embankment.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office Rescue 5 helicopter responded to the scene and transported three patients from the scene. Two patients were transported by ground ambulances.

East Fork Road near the crash scene, which is located northeast of Los Angeles, was closed in both directions during rescue and investigation operations.
