Firefighter’s Clothing Catch Fire Before Evacuating from Second Floor Apartment Window

A video of a firefighter jumping out of the window of a burning second-floor apartment in Jianli county, Hubei Province just as flames ignited on his protective clothing.

In a cellphone video at the scene of an apartment fire, a firefighter is seen standing inside a window attempting to arrange a rescue line that he would slide down. As the flames intensify, no ladder crew is in sight, and he continues to attempt to prepare a rescue line

When his clothes caught fire, he leaps toward a downspout to slow down his fall. The truck crew is seen arriving with a ladder just seconds after the firefighter had a rough landing to the ground.

He survived the incident, and suffered only minor injuries to his hands.
