Good Samaritan Rescues Three Men from Burning Shrimp Boat Near Galveston, Texas


Three people have escaped from a shrimp boat that caught fire in the Gulf of Mexico just off Galveston. The Coast Guard says no one was hurt when the blaze broke out Friday morning.

Three men were rescued about 3:10 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2013 from the burning 55-foot shrimp boat, “Capt. Hunter”, by a good Samaritan a few hundred yards off Galveston, Texas. Coast Guard crews arrived shortly thereafter with a response boat and the Coast Guard Cutter Manta. U.S. Coast Guard video by Vessel Traffic Service Houston.
