Fire Destroys Gordon Fire Hall and All Fire Vehicles Inside in Gordon, Wisconsin


Gordon, Wisconsin Fire Hall was destroyed Thursday along with all equipment that was inside the building.

The Gordon Fire Hall was destroyed by a fire that occurred on Thursday, September 19, 2013. Heavy fire was already showing by the time firefighters arrived about noon Thursday. There were storms in the area at the time of the fire, but the fire is believed to have started before the sotrms hit.

Gordon Fire Chief Mike Chmielecki reported six trucks were destroyed: two engines, two tenders, and two brush trucks. The building was constructed in 1979, and reported to have been updated to fire code requirements.

New equipment might be installed in a highway shop until a new fire hall is built.
