High Winds Whip Up Fire at Old Teen Services Building on Cedar Ave, Pembroke, Bermuda


Cedar Avenue fire in Pembroke Parish near Hamilton, Bermuda — the capital of Bermuda.

Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service responded about 1:15 a.m. Thursday, October 17, 2013 to a fully-involved fire at the old Teen Services building. High winds fanned the flames of the fire. Winds in St. Davids Bermuda were recorded from 21.9 mph to 26.5 mph between 1:02 a.m. and 2:35 a.m. early Thursday morning, October 17, 2013 (Weather Underground Data 10.17.2013).

Cedar Avenue was blocked in both directions for an extended time period during the fire and after the fire was extinguished.
