Fire Devil (Firenado/Dust Devil) Forms at Prescribed Wildland Burn, Sends Flaming Tumbleweeds Flying


Firenado forms during “controlled burn” in Adams County Colorado.

A “controlled” or subscribed burn on March 14, 2014 became an uncontrolled Firenado hurling burning and non-burning tumbleweeds near the Rocky Mountain Arsenal in Adams County. An extra acre beyond the beyond the prescribed burn area was reported to have burned. No injuries were reported and no property was damaged.
