Sacramento firefighters responded about 4:00 p.m. Tuesday to a multi-alarm fire that burned in a large recycling plant in South Sacramento at the Sierra Waste Recycling and Transfer Center near Berry Avenue and Power Inn Road.
Crews also battled triple digit heat. Two firefighters were transported to the hospital due to exhaustion or heat exhaustion.
The cause of the fire is unknown. The entire event was broadcasted live via Sacramento Fire Department’s periscope account.
