Female Patient Transported from Birmingham Airport Fires Gun at Birmingham Fire and Rescue Medics, Steals Ambulance

Birmingham Fire and Rescue paramedics responded Saturday morning to a an EMS call at Birmingham Airport for a woman who complaining of dizziness. During transport to a hospital, the woman pulled out a gun and fired three shots at paramedics. The paramedics escaped the ambulance, and the woman fled while driving the ambulance.

She was captured by police after a short pursuit. The fire department paramedics were reported to have minor injuries.
