DASHCAM VIDEO: Police Contain Car Fire with Victim Trapped in Car, Charleston South Carolina


Charleston police released dashcam video of first responders arriving at the scene of a burning vehicle.

On Tuesday August 27, 2013, North Charleston officers arrived first on the scene of a crash on I-26 near Mile Marker 215 after a car left the intersate and hit a tree.

Dashcam video from two separate police cars captures the response by police before firefighters arrived.

Police used several fire extinguishers, and had to back off as they were overcome by smoke.

Police report Shana Porter, 28, was transported to MUSC in serious condition.

Firefighters from North Charleston , St. Andrews, City of Charleston fire departments, Charleston County EMS, and Charleston County assisted with extinguishing the fire and rescuing the victim.
